Raaaain!
But not on me.

From Bamboozle 2010

Massive thunderstorm moved in… right after my stage was all packed and ready to be loaded.

Tom and I quickly made a big gear pile and double wrapped it in plastic. Then as the lightning drew nearer and the rain started we headed over to the mainstage to help them. They got caught right in the middle of a set and had a lot more gear to cover.

Pretty thoroughly drenched and with the lightning drawing even nearer all power was shut off. Then we, and a sizable crowd, waited. As each crack of lightning sounded the crowd cheered. At various times a chant for a band would spring up. One band member went running through the venue as the audience chased him. After some time of this the rain let up and gear was uncovered. It was decided that the main PA was too wet to resume, but no one wanted a canceled show. The solution? Four self powered QSC speakers run from a big orange extension cord.

The last three bands all did acoustic sets into the sun breaking though the clouds. I felt like exploring and wandered off.
